Iranian Authorities Confiscate 1,000 Bitcoin Mining Machines

Image
Authorities in Iran have confiscated about 1,000 units of bitcoin (BTC) mining machines from two now-defunct factories, BBC reported on June 28 As reported, local authorities noticed a surge in electricity consumption by 7% earlier in June and linked it to cryptocurrency mining activities.
Officials subsequently discovered and removed the mining hardware from two former factories. Arash Navab, an electricity official, reportedly said that "two of these bitcoin farms have been identified, with a consumption of one megawatt."

An Oxford researcher told the BBC that Iranians are increasingly turning to cryptocurrencies like bitcoin as a means of skirting sanctions.
Cointelegraph recently reported that Iranian BTC miners were moving into mosques as the government launches an energy crackdown. Iran, which offers free energy to mosques, now has around 100 miners occupying places of worship, generating around $260,000 a year. The Iranian government thus will be cutting off power t…

Ethereum Vs. EOS: Ethereum’s (ETH) Rapid Surge Has Taken Over EOS’ Crawling Trend

Image
Ethereum gives traders several delightful moments; EOS holders continue to cringe EOS needs to come on board with the rising market trend to get noticed Ethereum has shown mind-blowing performance in this week, and the coin continues to surge steadily to cross $350 mark.
On the other hand, EOS, also sometimes referred to as the ‘Ethereum Killer’ is no way near the bullish trend and hovering within $8.

The traders of ETH mark the week as celebratory while EOS traders are now concerned about the future benefits of this crypto.
The overshadowing performance of ETH in the current market statistics gives a clear indication to EOS to catch up fast before it is too late.
 The market remains optimistic.

Privacy Crypto Zcash to Undergo Complete Rebuild Because It Was A Failure: Analyst

Image
ecrypt’s Tim Copeland attended a developer conference hosted by the Electric Coin Company in Croatia.
He reports that the company is considering the most significant possible changes to its product, Zcash.
Privacy Coin Considering Massive Development Pivot If you’re studying crypto, you may have heard of Zcash.
It’s a “privacy coin” which allows users to guard their transaction details from the public, and currently the  coin in its class by market capitalization (after Monero).
Zcash developers want the cryptocurrency to service as many as 10 billion people in the coming three decades, Copeland reports, and they’re willing to do just about anything to get there.

One of the major considerations they’re currently undertaking is whether or not (and how) to implement “sharding,” a scaling technique advanced by Ethereum.
Adamant Capital analyst and Bitcoin commentator Tuur Demeester believes this is an admission on ECC’s part that their original design was never scalable.
 Zcash is e…

Bitcoin passes $11,000 on news of Facebook's cryptocurrency plan

Image
The price of bitcoin has surged above $11,000 (£8,600), its highest level in 15 months, amid renewed hype over cryptocurrencies after Facebook said it was planning to launch a digital currency next year. Bitcoin has risen in value by almost $2,000 in the week since the US technology firm revealed plans to create a cryptocurrency called Libra, in a move that could radically reshape the financial landscape with far-reaching implications for governments and central banks around the world.
The original cryptocurrency had languished below $6,000 for much of this year and was falling out of the headlines as investors around the world gradually lost interest in the fad for digital assets.

Some investors had been severely burned by bitcoin when its meteoric rise to almost $20,000 in late 2017  which drew comparisons to the tulip mania of the 17th century was followed by a spectacular collapse last year.
Stoking fresh fears of the reinflation of the bubble, bitcoin hit $11,116.65 over the we…

This father of three put everything into bitcoin. Here’s what happened next.

Image
When I jumped on a WhatsApp call with 41-year old Didi Taihuttu, he was a few days away from joining his family on CoinBank’s annual Mediterranean “Blockchain Cruise”  a combination vacation getaway and crypto symposium at which all the movers and shakers in the decentralized finance arena get together to discuss a hypothetical future where government-printed money is rendered obsolete, dropping by Mallorca and Marseille along the way.
According to Taihuttu, invitations to blockchain conferences and seminars have piled up ever since he liquidated almost everything he owned (yes, including his house and his cars) and invested his remaining capital in bitcoin.

It’s a financial pivot that’s both irrational and dangerous to an outsider, but within the crypto nation, it can make you a legend.
Taihuttu was born in the Netherlands, and before going all in on bitcoin, he ran a company that taught tech literacy to people in need.
Today, though, he, his wife, and their three kids are in con…

There was a break below the $0.4500 and $0.4400 support levels.

A Protocol for Issuing Tokens Launches on Bitcoin’s Lightning Network

Image
Many bitcoiners thought it would be a cold day in hell when BHB Network co-founder Giacomo Zucco admitted that all tokens aren’t inherently scams.
But, as it turns out, all he needed were the right partners.
What started as a client’s request for a more secure alternative to ethereum’s ERC-20 tokens will soon emerge as the first unique protocol for issuing tokens via bitcoin’s lightning network.
A better token-minting protocol, Zucco said, could be a game changer for entrepreneurs.
“If ethereum is going to die eventually, then we have very high hopes that this will be sustainable long term,” the notorious ethereum critic told CoinDesk.

This open-source token project, called Spectrum, includes contributions from investors at Fulgur Ventures and Poseidon Group, startups such as Bitrefill and Chainside, as well as support from crypto exchange giant Bitfinex.
The goal is to change the perception that bitcoin is too slow moving for experimentation.
 Indeed, Bitfinex CTO Paolo Ardoino…

No One Actually Knows What Bitcoin Will Do Next

Bitcoin and cryptocurrency markets are highly volatile and, according to new research, incredibly unpredictable, appearing to move independently of most traditional or expected indicators.
The bitcoin price, which has doubled so far this year after recording heavy losses throughout 2018, is hovering around $8,000 per bitcoin.
Most other major cryptocurrencies, including ethereum, bitcoin cash, litecoin, and Ripple's XRP, have also made significant gains in recent months.
Now, it's been revealed that bitcoin and cryptocurrency markets do not respond to any of the things that usually move traditional currencies, stocks and shares, or commodities, data provider Indexica has found.

"We tested bitcoin and other major cryptocurrencies including ethereum and bitcoin cash in the same way we've tested popular stocks and traditional currencies," said Zak Selbert, chief executive of Indexica.

"From our extensive research, and we've done more testing around bit…

 Ethereum Price Analysis
Fundamentals
The success of any blockchain project depends on reception. That Ethereum is one of the biggest benefactors because of their soft landing is true.

Promising to create a platform that improves on Bitcoin, Vitalik, and the team did create an IT miracle.
Already, early investors are drawing benefits even as prices bottom up after tanking in 2018.
Since ETH is the fuel within the Ecosystem, the coin has value thanks to supply-demand dynamics. So valuable is the currency that Benfica FC, a Portuguese Football club and one of the top clubs in Europe, now accepts Bitcoin and Ether (ETH) as money.
By doing so, the football giant is the…
